Last Friday (April 25, 2012) I was given the impromptu task of programming something “cool” in 1 hour.
I decided that I would attempt to implement Lua scripting with C++.
One hour (and countless linker errors) later I had managed to get a program to run scripts from a .lua file, Hello World for this project.
Even knowing that Lua was created to be a scripting language embedded within other programs, I was still surprised at just how easy this was to do, and while due to the time restriction I was unable to implement some of the more advanced features (such as exposing c++ variables, classes, and methods for use in Lua scripts) it was still a good project.
In the future I plan to experiment with the more advanced features I couldn’t get to, as well as implement Lua scripting capabilities into future games I create.
So my school convinced me via prizes to compete in Global Game Jam 2012.
The theme was ouroboros, a snake eating it’s own tail, and I already had a game design idea so I just incorporated ouroboros into it. Also it needed to be a Windows Phone 7 game.
So Minecraft is aweseome and I decided to host my own SMP server.
It’ll be open to anyone rather than a private server, though I doubt it will be very populated.
Update:
Server is up!
I have no idea whether or not the IP will change, but for now it’s:
71.233.74.223:12111
Don’t expect to see anyone there!
Update Again!:
Well, I’ve had to set up a new network in my apartment with a router provided by Comcast. A router which doesn’t forward ports properly. Thus the Minecraft server is no more. ;_;
I might be able to bring it back at some point in the future but don’t expect it.
Alright, this originally started out as a reply to a forum post on Facepunch, but it grew to the length where I felt I might as well post it as a review here. Full review after the break.
So last week as you probably already know was E3 2010.
I was luck enough to attend said expo.
Here are all the pictures I took. Unfortunately I’m not in any of these, and I know that’s a big dissapointment considering how pleasurable I am to look at, but you’re just going to have to deal with it.
NOTE: Clicking to see the full article will attempt to load close to 300 large pictures which altogether add up to around 500MB. It will take a long time to load unless your internet connection is a beast. Continue at your own risk.
So I did some concept art for my next project which I should really come up with a name for so that I can stop calling it “my next project.” That’s it, fuck it, from now on the game shall be known as “Paradox.” Working title or final title I don’t give a damn, that’s what I’m calling it.
Hit the jump to see the concept art that was the purpose of this post in the first place.
I finally got around to doing some artwork for my next game so I figured I’d throw it up here because why the hell not.
This is art for the character “Lilith.”

Running
I know it’s not particularly awesome art, but I’m not a particularly awesome artist, in fact, I’m not really an artist at all, I’m a programmer! So by my standards this is quite good.
You can access all of them through the Games page!
Unfortunately, they don’t have their descriptions back yet, so the games which don’t explain the controls to you in game, will be a little bit difficult to figure out, but you can do it! Â Don’t believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you!
Some things are still under construction, like the comics page which will have all of the old comics easily accessible. Â
Also, check out that sexy new post slideshow up there on the front page. Â I would hit that. Â Would you?
